Just got an email from David,
Adam I was just running past a computer and had
a look at the website.
Just thought I'd let everyone
know that the album is coming along really well
and I hope to have something going to radio late
September... It certainly is sounding different.
In a good way.
There will be no album until
next year here as we want to see how people respond
to the new direction. That all being said I will
be finishing the record @ October so fingers crossed.
To clarify gossip I was in
London writing and recording...going well. Have
a couple of great songs I think. I definitely think
the Listers are gonna love the direction...As soon
as I can release something for you to listen to
on the list I will but I don't want to spoil the
As far as other gossip ( I
love gossip more than anyone) Katie Les and I did
see a movie the other night. I hope Aussie Listers
will support "What the World Needs Now"
@the Theatre Royal as Katie is in it.
That's all talk soon

David is heading back to both NYC and Cabaret and will
be appearing for 4 weeks at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35
East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600 - http://www.thecarlyle.com/cal.cfm).
Christopher Denny is musical director.
Campbell, who created a mini-sensation a couple
seasons back when he was cast in the lead of the
Off-Broadway New York premiere of Stephen Sondheim's
early effort Saturday Night, will return to town
Feb. 26 for a month-long cabaret gig at Cafe Carlyle.
The Australian star's engagement lasts until March
will use the Carlyle dates to pay tribute to two
of his favorite singers: Bobby Darin, the early
rock idol who, with "Mack the Knife,"
switched mid-career to swinging lounge-style singing;
and Sammy Davis, Jr., the tap dance, actor and Rat
Pack member who's best remembered for his rendition
of "The Candy Man."
will also sing songs from Shout, the Aussie musical
he starred in. Other represented composers include
Carol Hall, John Bucchino and Michael Pemberton.
other theatre credits include Babes in Arms at City
Center Encores!, and Guys and Dolls and Les Miz,
both in Australia. There is a $75 cover charge,
no minimum. Cafe Carlyle is in the Carlyle Hotel,
Madison Avenue at 76th Street. Performances are
Tuesday through Saturdays at 8:45 PM with late shows
on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 10:45 PM.
